In 1556-1557, Bashkir ambassadors traveled to Moscow, exactly where they received tsarist charters setting out the situations to the Bashkirs’ entry in the Russian state. Tsar Ivan the Awful acknowledged the Bashkirs’ suitable for their lands and gave assures of safety from army raids.
